What is your availability?
For larger projects, we are available in 2023. However, if you have a smaller renovation, alteration or similar, get in touch and we may be able to fit you in.
How long will it take?
This varies hugely from project to project; however, due to the current climate, unfortunately wait times are longer than previous years. We do our best to provide accurate timeframes and set realistic expectations.
How do I find and hire subcontractors for my project?
We are more than happy to assist in this process, as we have a great list of excellent and trusted subcontractors, whom we can recommend and make contact with.
Do you draw plans?
Unfortunately, no. If plans are required, these will need to be completed (and if necessary, consented) before our building work begins. We can help you with suggestions of qualified architects who may be a good fit for the project and your budget.
How does pricing work?
We can provide you with both quotes and estimates, depending on your preference and the nature of the job. Generally, however, renovations are provided as estimates, due to many unknown factors; although, there are always exceptions where a quote can be given. Quotes are priced as a fixed sum, giving you as the customer peace of mind that the cost of your project will not change. We always aim to provide competitive quotes that accurately draw from our experience of what materials and labour a job is likely to require. Estimates, on the other hand, are provided based on an hourly rate and a margin of 7% on both labour and materials. This form of pricing can save you money if we are able to complete your project quicker and/or with less costly resources than may have been anticipated in a quote. Again, we always aim to keep costs as low as possible and minimise the time spent on the job, while providing a quality outcome.

If you already have a preferred subcontractor in mind, we can also make this work, provided their schedule is compatible with our timeline for your project.

• DECKING DEMOLISHMENT & REBUILD – DURIE HILL
“Last year we contacted Blake Construction to build us a new deck for our old villa, which was built in 1900. Sadly, the old deck was very decrepit and had been unsafe for anyone to walk on for many years. Blake came around and looked at the deck, with love for the heritage of the house. He gave us good practical advice on what we could and couldn’t do, the types of wood available and their suitability, and listened to how we envisioned the new deck would look. Anything we were unsure about, Blake had fantastic ideas on what was the best decision to make. Blake and his team of workers tore down our previous falling-down old deck and – with clockwork precision – a new deck emerged from hard work, laughter and music. The new deck is amazing! It is everything and more than what we dreamed of. Solidly built, the deck looks part of the house, having retained the beauty of the heritage, old villa look. Thank you so much Blake Construction! For the first summer in 20 years, we have been able to entertain outside on our new deck. Everyone has loved the deck and been wowed with the excellent workmanship and materials. Blake, you certainly created a stunner! We can’t thank you enough.”
